Cbank: Russia’s foreign debt down by 14% to $330 bln Jan 1–Oct 1

MOSCOW, Oct 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s external debt contracted by 14.1% since January 1, or by U.S. $54.1 billion, to $329.5 billion as of October 1, the lowest figure since 2006, the central bank said in a statement on Thursday.

Contraction of debt of the other sectors of the economy, including debt from direct investment, which was in part connected to implementation of the replacement bond mechanism contributed most to the fall, the regulator said.
